Hispanic Federation Statement on Inauguration and Biden Administration Day One Actions

Hispanic Federation President Frankie Miranda issued the following statement on the Inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden and Vice President Kamala D. Harris and the day one actions of the Administration:

“Today, all people in America have been called to come together at this historic moment for our country. We have been reminded by President Joseph Biden that we each play a critical role in maintaining our delicate—yet resilient—democracy. All of us at Hispanic Federation once again renew our pledge to lift up the voices of Latinos and immigrants in the continuing effort to build a more perfect union. We are heartened that in this work, the Biden Administration is moving swiftly to reform our nation’s immigration policies, seeking to create opportunity and security for millions of people who live and serve in neighborhoods across America.

“On day one, President Biden is seeking to fulfill his promise to demonstrate America’s might through the “power of our example” by prioritizing plans which address COVID-19, provide economic relief, tackle climate change, and advance equity. Each of these issues disproportionately impacts Latinos, Black, Indigenous and other communities of color and we pledge to use our voices—and our votes—to ensure the Biden Administration continues to move forward on these priorities and that the Congress joins them in these efforts. On this historic day, we once again congratulate President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and look forward to working with them to pursue equity for all communities in the years to come.”
