A Message From The Hispanic Federation

Hispanic Federation Relief Mission

Dear Friends,

Thirty five days after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, 85 percent of our American citizens on the island are still without power and most have no water. That’s why we continue to work hard to help Puerto Rico. In fact, over 100,000 of you, from every state and 23 countries have supported the Hispanic Federation Relief Effort.

And the Hispanic Federation has acted quickly to put your donations to good use. They’re already delivered over 1,500,000 pounds of food and water to the island. They were among the first to set up aid distribution routes and centers throughout the island. They're investing an initial $2.5M in a fund to help families rebuild their lives through the help of community organizations on the island. This is just the beginning.

We've all been working hard on behalf of Puerto Rico. You have shared your stories, and we have worked together on various relief efforts. Together with 21 incredible artists, I created Almost Like Praying, a song whose profits will benefit the recovery efforts in Puerto Rico.

Tonight, NBC and over 30 of its affiliates are airing a special behind the scenes documentary on the making of Almost Like Praying.

I'm incredibly proud of this special--it documents the whirlwind experience of putting this song together with these amazing artists, along with stories of our beloved Puerto Rico. It was created by the same team behind the PBS documentary Hamilton's America, and I'm so grateful to them for joining us on this journey.

Almost Like Praying

There's no shortage of ways to do good today. You can buy the song. You can sign up to give monthly. We hope you enjoy tonight's NBC special and donate during the show.

Remember - 100% of the proceeds will go directly to helping the people of Puerto Rico.

My faith in our power to make a difference is stronger than ever thanks to you.

Thanks for all you do.

Siempre,

Lin-Manuel Miranda
