Hispanic Federation will announce soon the second round of its Small Business Revitalization Program: "PopTiendas". The objective of this program is to donate eco-friendly steel containers specially adapted as stores to assist in the renovation or opening of retail stores or services throughout Puerto Rico. The PopTiendas have dimensions of 8'X20 '. This configuration offers an environmentally-sustainable and energy-efficient space for different types of businesses and community projects.

HF launched a major initiative with the Coca-Cola Company and Prudential Financial Inc., to provide custom-built, self-sufficient pop-up stores made from shipping containers to 40 eligible business owners and nonprofits on the island. Priority was given to entrepreneurs who lost their businesses as a result of Hurricane María.

Hispanic Federation recognizes that small businesses are the economic engine of Puerto Rico’s communities. Therefore, the goal of the PopTiendas is to support the effort of economic recovery in the island by assisting small businesses, community-based and non-profit organizations to restart their operations.

Additionally, the program seeks to stimulate entrepreneurship in Puerto Rico by granting PopTiendas to individuals who want to start a new small business.
